Happy Friday, Happy Weekend! A couple of very interesting developments on the world of the future front right here in the Czech Republic. An eight year old girl just woke up from a year long coma and she’s absolutely fine, they tried some totally experimental medicine and it worked. No word on what the medicine was (Simpson’s Oil?), but it doesn’t matter.
A little girl is cured and that’s a good thing and a lot more people will be cured in the future, although I’m not real sure of the nature of her illness and doctors are kind of puzzled by her case. It’s obvious the medicine worked, but they’re not really sure why.
The other cool thing was a flying bicycle! It was a short flight, like almost Wright Brother’s at Kitty Hawk short, and it took place inside a building, and the only rider was a dummy – no, I’m not making a joke about anybody’s intelligence, the “pilot” was a mannequin, a crash test dummy. Which is pretty reasonable, on a first attempt, but the Wright Brothers didn’t do that.
So, it was operated by remote control from the ground, and looked a lot like a remote control toy helicopter, except a big one.
Pretty soon, somebody’s going to have to get up on that sucker and fly. Then, it will either take off (metaphorically that is, as it has, literally, already taken off), and flocks of bicyclists will pedal (well, maybe not pedal) merrily across the sky, laughing at the landbound creepy crawlies, stuck in a tangle of steel boxes along the tiny pathways of the earth, or it won’t. Although some adrenaline junkies might want it, for some it might be just a bit too much.
I sure as hell wouldn’t try it.

Actually the medicine they used is a new drug used for treating leukemia and othe similar blood cancers. Not cannabis derivates. I think they said the drug was invented in the US but is not certified in CZ She had an extremely rare case of infection and that drug has never ever been used to cure that. It was 50-50 chance: death or life. That’s all I know about it.
