The MSM is Lying, Again

Sorry to be focusing on Syria so much lately, but this is a nightmare unfolding before our eyes, this is the point where I would  like to indulge in lucid dreaming and say, hey, it should happen like this and not like that, but I have pinched myself and this is for real.  Nancy Pelosi and John Boehner have got their pictures on the front pages, all smiling  and holding hands and looking real pleased with themselves that they’ve reached a conclusion before the debate has even started, to do the patriotic thing and rubber stamp Obama’s war.

It is possible that a left-right coalition will emerge to oppose it, but I don’t think that Alan Grayson and Rand Paul have the clout to pull it off, even though the majority of the American people, and all of the good arguments, are on their side.

I don’t have much faith that the debate in congress will be serious, but I could be surprised.  The debate on the internet is certainly exposing some strange stuff.  Like the possibility that the Sarin gas attack was actually done by the rebels – maybe accidentally, maybe one rebel group against another.  This is all over the internet, but I haven’t seen it in any of the mainstream media yet –  but then again, the main stream media didn’t report on the Occupy Wall Street protests until they’d been happening for a couple of months.  The mainstream media totally accepted Bush’s nonsense about WMDs in Iraq, without a shred of evidence.  So, I don’t think we can really count on the mainstream media.

Anderson Cooper - The Tail that Wags the Dog?

Anderson Cooper – The Tail that Wags the Dog?

Worse, there is the story about Anderson Cooper faking the news stories out of Syria.  Again, it’s all over the internet, not a peep about it from CNN.  If it turns out to be true and it costs Anderson Cooper his career, that would be at least one good thing to come out of all this.

If that’s not enough, here’s another good argument not to bomb Syria.  The opposition doesn’t want us to.  At any rate, the secular opposition.  The opposition groups that are aligned with Al Qaeda, the ones that are backed by the Saudi Arabians, they  want us to bomb the fuck out of Damascus and think the secular opposition groups are a bunch of weenies because they would be willing to negotiate with al-Assad.

I can understand siding with the rebels against al-Assad, he’s a dictator and he’s been around forever, change is good, etc…, but I don’t understand why Barack Obama is siding with the Al Qaeda rebels over the non-crazy rebels.

It’s like a bad dream.  But it’s not a dream.
