It happens so often that somebody is in the news and they are suddenly the focus of all the world’s attention and I didn’t know who they were yesterday. Such is the case of General McChrystal (I hope I’m spelling that right.)
Apparently, he gave an interview to Rolling Stone Magazine (and why is Rolling Stone interviewing Generals? Aren’t they supposed to be interviewing musicians, and film directors and stuff like that? Bring back the real Rolling Stone, I say) and in that interview he said some really nasty things about Obama, the US ambassador to Afghanistan, Joe Biden, etc…
So he’s in deep dog shit and may be forced to resign. I really hope so. I hope this is the wake up, get angry moment for Barry that will transform his presidency, end the pretense of bipartisanship, and lead to the asskicking that the right wing so badly deserves. I hope it’s like the moment in all the movies when the good cop gets a dark look on his face and says “Now, it’s personal.” You know that some bad guys are going to go down, and go down in spectacular fashion.
Probably won’t happen. The reason Obama got elected and the reason for the small successes he has had is his ability to remain calm, to not make it personal. So it probably won’t happen. But I wish it would.
