Here’s a little thing I’m trying to write, it’s a poem but it’s also a language lesson, I’m also certain that Bubu and Bekr could make a lot more out of it than me, so I’ll write it and then see.
It’s to the tune of C is for Cookie, by Cookie Monster.
A ball is a micek, a micek is a ball
a ball is a micek, a micek is a ball
You can kick it, you can throw it, you can roll it down the hall, oh
a ball is a micek, a micek is a ball
A roof is a strecha, a strecha is a roof
a roof is a strecha, a strecha is a roof
When it starts to rain I only hope it’s waterproof oh,
a roof is a strecha, a strecha is a roof
A cow is a krava, a krava is a cow
a cow is a krava, a krava is a cow
they give us lots of milk to drink, I’d rather not know how, oh
a cow is a krava, a krava is a cow
A book is a kniha, a kniha is a book
a book is a kniha, a kniha is a book
if you want to read a story go ahead and take a look, oh
a book is a kniha, a kniha is a book
A fork is a vidlicka, a vidlicka is a fork
a fork is a vidlicka, a vidlicka is a fork
you use it to eat pasta, or bits of beef and pork, oh
a fork is a vidlicka, a vidlicka is a fork
I just need about 20 or 30 more verses and there we go
I love it !! Great way to teach….it will stick in the memory. Make a tape recording of your poem/lesson so pronounciation will be clear. Flashcards with pictures as well. Makes me miss the days of watching Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers and Reading Rainbow with my own children…
