The Banality of Evil Paid Trolls, and I Finally Decide that Lindsay Lohan is a Bitch, After All

Happens all the time.  You leave a reasonable, thoughtful comment on the news of the day after reading an article on Hufferpoodle or Politico or some other site where political nerds hang out, and you are met with half a dozen responses saying “SToopid Libs!,” “LIer!,” “Haha,

you are going to loose in 2012 because nobody likes O’bummer and Mooshelle’s vegtable garden is stupid, we hate vegtables and tackses are to high!!!1!”

Well, we refer to these people as trolls, defined as someone who makes off topic, deliberately ignorant, offensive comments just to fuck with everybody.   In fact, we have suspected for years that some of them are paid trolls, because there are so many of them and they all say the same things.

I always envisioned a phone room with a supervisor passing out suggestions of topics they should focus on, and then they just manage to misspell all the words by themselves which works out just fine, because the bloc of voters they are aiming at can’t spell either and in fact they sort of resent anybody who can.

Well, even I, as totally suspicious and paranoid as I am, didn’t think that this was actually being done BY THE GOVERNMENT.  But as it turns out, it probably is.

Authorities in Wisconsin have busted a couple of people in Governor Walker’s administration for spending all their time just posting nasty messages on liberal blogs.  Of course, it’s all still “alleged” and Walker says he didn’t know anything about it, but it fits.  Your tax dollars at work.

In other news, Lindsay Lohan, who I have generally defended up till now because I feel that a hot young starlet (or anybody else) should have the right to get hammered every night and do ridiculous amounts of cocaine and sleep with a wide variety of people of both sexes, threw a glass at a photographer, at an event where the whole purpose was to photograph celebrities, hit a waitress instead, and then punched a totally innocent bystander in the stomach.  What a bitch, huh?
