We had to get up pretty early to get to Sam’s football game but it was a bright and sunny Spring morning, they won 13-11 because they do an aggregate scoring thingie between the A Squads and the B squads, and Sam got shuffled back and forth quite a bit. Looked to me like they weren’t doing that great, I was surprised at the final score. We had a klobasa afterward and went home.
I worked on our school’s monthly online newspaper, Watson’s World News, for a couple of hours, browsing through the weird stories, wheelchair bungee jumping, smoking monkeys, a 7 foot transvestite- I decided not to go with those – the video was cool, though, especially on the wheelchair bungee jumping. Instead I went with the roving gangs of female rapists who are kidnapping men, harvesting their sperm, that’s what the story says, I shit you not, and dumping them off by the side of the road when they’re done. Then, they use the sperm in some ritual. Then, we’ve got the story about a haunted supermarket in Australia, the world’s first coin-op pot machine, a very feisty squirrel and loads and loads of celebrity pregnancies, it’s like a damned epidemic.
Then I took Isabel out for a bike ride, which meant I walked behind while she showed off. She can ride standing up. I was pretty impressed. The whole thing was a trick, though. She got ahead of me and made a beeline for the playground, which, I am quite certain, was her goal all along. We dug a super deep hole in the sand.
Then, my wife had a pretty cool incident at work today. She met Karel Gott.
Now, my Czech readers know what a big deal this is. For those of you who’ve never been here, even for 5 minutes, Karel Gott is the most famous person in the universe in the Czech Republic. It would be the equivalent of meeting Elvis or Frank Sinatra, if they weren’t both dead. Maybe the equivalent of meeting Paul McCartney. He’s the Czech singer who every 75 year old Czech woman has loved for her entire live, and plenty of the younger ones, too.
She gave him directions at the mall where she works. So, she’s pretty jazzed about that.
Yeah, it’s been a good day.
