Slow news day. The only political scandal worth writing about is the 12 secret servicemen in Colombia, there in advance of President Obama’s visit, were out getting hammered and picking up prostitutes, which I’m surprised that anybody’s surprised. They’re young men, well paid, out in the world, want to get laid.
They’re in a country where prostitution is pretty much legal. There are supposed to be just specified zones where it’s legal, like the red light district in Amsterdam , but the police never bust anybody for getting a little tourist priced erotic entertainment out of bounds, so to speak.
And I’m sure some of those girls were smoking hot. So, I can’t blame them. I’d have probably done the same thing.
Still, it’s like a breach of discipline, a breach of military code, blah, blah, blah, posed a security risk and so forth, so they were sent home in disgrace, will probably be sacked and wind up working as a security guard at a mall somewhere.
That sucks. I hope it winds up being just no big deal and swept under the rug.
But the tragedy is that they got busted because one of them was such a fucking moron he didn’t want to pay the girl or something (all speculation at this point, we just know there was some argument over money, who knows, was she asking too much? was he being cheap? Did he not realize blow jobs were extra?) but, dude, you messed it up for everybody.
Next time, just pay the girl, O.K.?
