Rain

It’s been stinking hot the last couple of days and tonight it rained, it came pouring down from the sky, it was pounding on the aluminum  windowsill on the balcony, there was thunder, there was lightning.

Run, Suri, Run!

It cools the air, it reduces the pressure, it feels good.

Just now I am watching American news, which means there is nothing at all interesting on, and I see it’s pretty much the same across the central swath of North America.  The rain will come.  I hope it comes soon and puts out the fires in Colorado.

re the GQ article about how Obama is planning to resolve the war on drugs in his next term (knowledgeable sources said), I call bullshit.  If he’d wanted to do something, he could have done it, inaction is action and inaction is the easiest thing in the world, but he’s been actually proactive in his anti-marijuana stance.

Of course, I’m still going to vote for the guy.

The most interesting news for me (that’s how shallow I am) was the update on Katie Holmes, that she’s moved out and taken the kid, got herself an independent, ridiculously expensive New York apartment, and hired her own security people and handlers to make a clean  break from Couch Jumping Jerry McGuire.  One of her new crew (which was also, largely, her old crew, her pre-Cruise crew) said “It looks like she’s trying to pretend the last 7 years haven’t happened.”

The way I see it, it’s Hollywood, everybody knows each other, they all get invited to the same parties, it’s only a matter of time until Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman meet  up.  I bet that will be a very interesting conversation.
