Heading Home

The vacation is over and we’re heading home today, planning to camp tonight in Liechtenstein and make Prague tomorrow so I’m writing this now at 7:30 in the morning because I might not be able to tonight.

Let the good times roll

It has been a fantastic  trip, full of new  sights and insights.   The kids have had a blast, the food has been good and except  for a couple of minor bumps on the road, the kinds of thing that happen every  vacation, things have gone really smoothly.

A few words about last night: We went to see my  brother’s band rehearse after we   finally  got home from Annecy.  His son, Dylan, who is 15, plays drums.  Now, I have heard my brother play many times, from way back in our living room on  Buchanan  Street, decades ago.  It’s always good to hear him but I knew,   pretty much, what to expect.  In fact,  I think there were only two songs I hadn’t heard before.

One was a song my brother wrote called “Shipped My  Job to China,” which   I believe you can find on youtube, and the other was a really fast paced song about  an auction.

But I had no idea what my  nephew would sound like on drums and I was skeptical because he is, after all, only 15.  To make a long story short, the kid rocks.
My next post will be from Prague.
