Silly Word Games

Well, old Mittful of Dollars was upset by Obama’s use of the word “romnesia” to describe Mitt Romney’s amnesia re his previous policy positions.  He said the president was just playing silly word games.

No, Shitmitt.  Silly word games are when we call you Mitt Robme, or point out that Mitt Romney is just an anagram for Mr. Moneytit.  It’s when we spell your last name as Rmoney (and you’ve got nobody but yourself to blame for that one).

Romnesia is a neologism.  A new word, with a specific meaning; an addition to the language.  It is a particularly effective neologism partly because it is a compound of two words that everybody already understands: Romney and amnesia.  It describes a particular kind of deliberate, selective amnesia common in political circles but of which Mitt Romney is the textbook example. Also, it does kind of roll off the tongue.

So, not a silly word game, no.  A very high level, sophisticated word game.  It must tear Mitt Romney apart that Obama excels in fields of endeavor he didn’t even realize existed.

There is also a larger point that Mitt Romney is overlooking here and he should at least be aware of it or he risks walking into a bigger trap than he did in Tuesday’s debate.  (Don’t worry, I’m sure he’s not reading this.) What Barack Obama described as romnesia is what most of us would call “lying.”

Obama was being polite, even gentlemanly, by inventing the word.  Obama was giving Romney a pass.

And nitwit Mitt didn’t get it and threw a shit fit.

Dude. This is getting embarrassing. Name calling? Really? Please concentrate / write about issues. Not a gossip column. Thanks, -m

  2. Actually, I thought Mr. Moneytit was rather clever.
