He tapped the FLOTUS on the arm
as if they were best friends
She rolled her eyes and looked away
there was no more she had to say
that’s where the story ends
John Boehner should be mighty glad
that the FLOTUS was not mad
she could have done him harm.
Monday I wrote about Mrs. John Boehner and the nasty looks she was casting Barry’s way as he took the oath of office, like she was muttering dark incantations under her breath. But, of all the nasty looks being cast about on that day, the one “the internet” (the new “they”) is buzzing about is the Michelle Obama eye roll.
It really wasn’t that big a deal. John Boehner doesn’t think it happened at all and if it did it probably wasn’t in regard to anything he said, he there were lots of people talking, it was a dinner, but there was actually a speaker, a few seconds later they all started applauding, so maybe she was rolling her eyes at something the speaker said, Boehner said.
I think Boehner’s full of shit, for a couple of reasons. First of all, the eye roll was immediately preceded by something he said, and it was loud enough that it got a chuckle out of the president, who was sitting on the opposite side of his wife, so whatever Boehner said, you know she heard it. Secondly, I’m sure she’s got plenty of reason to roll her eyes at anything Boehner says, because he’s a dick, and it’s probably not the first time she’s rolled her eyes at things he’s said. Thirdly, he tapped her on the arm to get her attention – not always a smooth move even among friends, and Boehner is the guy who spends every waking moment, and probably most of the sleeping one’s as well, trying to think up ways to make her husband’s life miserable. He’s not exactly a close friend. It probably wasn’t any big deal, though. I doubt they were discussing anything terribly important.
Michelle Obama hasn’t commented yet. If her memory is as bad as Boehner’s, we may never know what it was all about. Just as well. Anything else is bound to be anti-climactic.
The most interesting thing about this video is, once again, Mrs. John Boehner. Watch her, just as the eye roll incident unfolds, pull a Klaus and swipe something off the table. A little souvenir, perhaps? A cupcake to go?
I’m not too surprised, or even too bothered, that such petty behavior, such minor league greed takes place at such high levels. I’m just amazed that everybody’s talking about Michelle rolling her eyes, and not this.

yes, Boehner ‘hits’ Michele’s arm like an old army buddy, not respectful of the First Lady, or any Lady, at all. He invaded her personal space to the extent she had to move her arm closer to herself. Disgusting move on Boehner’s part. Typical of their attitude of entitlement to say and do as they want regardless of how it affects others.
Vijayyy……I agree, most of us wish to think good, say good, act good, be happy & positive. But, how many are imeetmlnping? It fails in implementation as one’s expectations are always high from each other & thinks different when with friends/relatives/family. Though you wish to lead simple life by acting good, saying good to all your relations but if you are not as per the expectations/anticipation of others the emotions go high and the perception ends -ve at both ends and you or others react as per the circumstances instead of correcting. So unless one keep his mind calm, composed, suppress anger, doesn’t react much… (which happen only through meditation), accepting everyone & spreading of happiness & love/care to everyone can’t be productive to my experience though you wish to.
CA-REEPY! Kinda looks like a cross between a beeavr and a badger. In improv class, I would call myself a beeavradger and pretend to attack anyone who came close to my stash of tasty birch logs.
Hi, Riskyadip and Jan! Welcome to the conversation. But, what are you talking about?
