My current favorite program is the 4400, which may be old news to those of you in the states, but I’d never heard of it and now I’m watching it obsessively.
Jordan Collier is an arrogant asshole with a serious messiah complex, but you can see how that would happen when everybody around you is telling you that you’re the messiah. However, I usually agree with what he does.
Sean Ferrell is too goody goody to be true. I was quite impressed the other day when it seemed they had killed him off, standing in front of the window when the explosion happened, but then it was just somebody’s dream. Although they were all, physically involved, they all woke up at home later.
But I have been impressed with the shows willingness to write out, and even kill off, major characters, like Lily Tyler. Contract dispute? Hmmm. We’re just going to have you age 50 years for no good reason and then die, so we can have this ridiculous plot point of Isabel (Richard and Lily’s daughter) aging 20 years overnight and get a super hot actress to play her as an adult.
Diana’s all right, but the characters surrounding her are the most interesting. Not Tom, he’s just the hero of every cop show. Boring. But her daughter that can see the future is pretty cool, and the computer geek ex-boyfriend, and I like her sister, April.
You’ve got a superpower like hers, there’s no reason not to make a little profit.
(As you can see, I really have nothing to say tonight.)
