Just a Few Random Thoughts, FWTW

Tiger Woods and skier Lindsay Vonn are officially dating.  I wish them luck, I sincerely do.  But, since Tiger Woods is a public figure, and was involved in the most salaciously comical sports sex scandal of recent memory, perhaps ever,  it is my moral obligation under the blogger’s code to offer a few observations:

Lindsay and Tiger

Lindsay and Tiger

a.  Lindsay looks a lot like Tiger’s first wife, a lot of his ex-“girlfriends,” and at least 50% of the world’s supermodels.  Tiger’s got a type.

b. Tiger is winning again.  So, apparently all he needed was to get laid.  I can understand that.

I don’t like to belabor the point and I wouldn’t bother mentioning the pro-slavery comment that popped out at the CPAC convention a couple of days ago except for the fact that Scott Terry has not only not apologized for his statement, he has defended it, as has the White Student Union (yes, that exists) at Towson University in North Carolina, where  Terry is a student and of which he is a member.  More damning than that is that neither his University, CPAC or the Republican Party has condemned or even tried to distance themselves from his comment.

Republicans: pro-war, pro-torture, pro-rape and now, pro-slavery.

Just a couple of notes on the race to be the female candidate for president in 2016.  Hillary Clinton has come out in favor of gay marriage.  Consider me unimpressed.  Oh, I suppose it’s better than the opposite,  but I think she waited until it was clearly the popular choice before making her statement.

Oh, yeah, she’s running.

Liz Warren, on the other hand, just said that the minimum wage should be $22 an hour.  I like the way the woman thinks and I’m real glad we’ve got her in the Senate, but the statement also sends a real clear message.  “I’m here to do business, not to run for president.”

Either that, or she’s the next Ralph Nader.
