Where Is Shelly Miscavige?

I only know what I read in the papers.  And from what I learned today, the papers haven’t been doing their job, since some time in 2006.

In November of 2006, when  Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were getting married, one of the guests, Leah Remini, asked David Miscavige, the head of the Scientology Church, “Where’s Shelly?”  Shelly is (or was, we don’t really know) Miscavige’s wife, Michele Miscavige.

She never got an answer to her question.  Shelly Miscavige was seen in public once after that, at her father’s funeral in 2007, but since then zip, nada, nothing.

A few days ago Leah Remini, who is a minorly famous actress, she had some important roles on a couple of TV shows I’d never heard of before, left the Church of Scientology, saying she’d faced a torrent of abuse for asking about Shelly Miscavige.

Today, the Huffington Post is reporting that  Scientologist and  slightly more famous but still  B list actress Kirstie Alley has been sending nasty tweets about Remini.  It seems to me, none of the journalists in this case are asking the right questions.

Where the hell is Shelly Miscavige?  Is she alive, is she dead, or is she locked up in a dark room somewhere, isolated from all human contact?  Does she have wires stuck into her brain?  Is she being hypnotized and force fed all sorts of weird drugs? And why aren’t the police looking for her?

It’s been 6 or 7 years, depending on how you count.  That’s a hell of a stretch of time to not contact anybody.  That’s a stretch like those 3 little girls in Boston.  The fact that she’s an adult doesn’t make it any better.

It may be she’s being held for some kind of brainwashing, a Scientological intervention, an involuntary “clearing” of the mind, which may sound a bit classier than being a sweaty old school bus driver’s sex slave, but it’s still kidnapping, and enslavement, and it’s crazy illegal.

Or she could be dead.  Journalists need to start asking questions about this.  I don’t give a rat’s ass what Kirstie Alley tweets.
