Holder Ain’t No Gupta

It’s  just one of those nights, I don’t have much to say, but I’m going blog it anyway.

It’s a quarter past midnight (as long as the blog is done by 1 a.m., I can post it as the previous date, without any fiddling, which is also easy to do), and I am watching an insanely predictable girl’s movie on TV, hard working assistant falls in love, quite unwittingly, with raging bitch hyper-arrogant boss’ boyfriend.  It’s Maid in Manhattan meets The Devil Wears Prada.  And it’s Christmas themed. Hideous.

Eric Holder

Eric Holder

But, it’s in English.  And it doesn’t involve twisted serial killers or massive shootouts or car explosions, so there’s that.

In the news, Eric Holder gave a big speech which a lot of people are talking up, like he (and by extension Obama) are finally seeing the light on the whole marijuana thing, because even the guy they first wanted as Surgeon General says pots O.K. now, but I’m not holding my breath. …“a frank and constructive dialogue about the need to reform a broken system,” is what he said we needed.

No, Dickhead.  What we need is for you and your boss to get off your anti-marijuana crusade, bow to scientific evidence, and stop interfering with States where it is legal, and stop denying old people the right to get it medically.  You are the head of the Justice Department.  You could do that.  Your boss could make a speech like Sanjay Gupta made, saying “Hey, we know it’s not all that bad, and legalizing it would save a shit ton of money, so we’re going to pardon everybody and get rid of the for profit prisons and make everybody happy.  Sorry for everything up to now.”

He would have the stoner vote and totally pre-empt Rand Paul.

But, nooooooo.  They want a “frank and constructive dialogue.”  Which is Washingtonian for bullshit.
