It’s a pretty well documented fact that all the major right wing spokesmonsters are working from the same playbook. Jon Stewart and Rachel Maddow regularly produce montages which prove the point.
You’ve got to admit, he DOES look like a turtle
So, it’s nothing new and I’m an amateur at this game, but I did notice and find it odd that both Bill “kinky felafel sex” O’Reilly and suspected human-turtle hybrid and current Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) both compared Barack Obama to Richard Nixon today.
Completely different issues, though. O’Reilly is upset that one of the two special investigators Obama has appointed to investigate the White House Drone Leakage incident (which Stewart did a really great piece on the other day, one of those aforementioned brilliant montages) is a Democrat. I would think this is at least a glass half empty/half full thing for the Republicans, as one of them is not.
McConnell is comparing Obama to Nixon because O is saying that people who make obscenely huge donations to Super Pacs should maybe not be doing it anonymously, just so people would know if their politicians are owned by the military-industrial complex, big oil, big pharma, Monsanto or whatever.
It’s like they’re finally worried about this Godwin’s Law thing and so have decided that Nixon is the new Hitler. Which is kind of weird because it also serves as a reminder that Republicans have been totally devious, anti-democratic, authoritarian assholes since 1972, at least.
Did they forget which party Richard Nixon belonged to?
