Hoo-boy, the Republicans are totally going apeshit over this Harry Reid thing, ain’t they? They are redefining deranged, they have gone off the deep end clutching stones, they have pole vaulted over the damned shark. Reince Priebus, whose parents should be seriously questioned as to why they gave him such a stupid name, called Harry Reid a dirty liar. Not accidentally, not when he thought the mike was turned off. He said it and when the newsnik called him on it he said “that’s what I said.” Lindsey “we all assume he’s gay because he’s a Republican and we’ve never seen him with a woman” Graham was slightly more circumspect, saying “I think he’s lying.”
When he says Reid is lying, he’s lying
That “I think” in front of a sentence can keep you out of a lot of trouble. It’s like “alleged.” By Republican standards, Lindsey Graham is a bona fide diplomat.
Reid also has a qualifier like that. All he said was that a source, who was an insider at Bain Capital, told him that Mitt Romney hasn’t paid taxes for 10 years. It will be really hard to disprove that somebody told Reid that.
Anyway, it’s a bit rich for any Republican to be accusing anybody of lying.
This is the party that keeps saying that tax breaks for the rich is the way to create jobs and save the economy, even though it hasn’t worked, never will, and really defies all logic when you think about it. Republicans know that. They’re just lying.
This is the party that went on and on and on about WMDs in Iraq. I don’t believe they were just misinformed. They were lying. When Colin Powell held up that vial in his U.N. speech, he was lying his ass off. When Donald Rumsfeld said “we know exactly where they are,” he didn’t have any idea where they were, because they didn’t, in fact, exist.
This is the party that claims to be the party of “family values” even though lots of them, maybe even most of them, are shtooping young boys, hookers, young boy hookers, or at least people who are not related to them by marriage.
Lying is just the way they roll.
