Scott Walker Wins Evil Republican of the Week Award

This week’s evil Republican of the week goes to the governor of the scenic state of Wisconsin, which is famous for beer, cheese and the Green Bay Packers.  Governor Scott Walker, on the other hand, is famous for hating teachers, firefighters and anybody else who belongs to a union, appointing his

friend’s worthless, drunken kid to high paying state government positions  and  trying to have all of the Democrats in the state legislature arrested for being Democrats.  However, that’s all ancient history, from at least a month ago, and so it’s not why he’s getting the award.

In a move which was likely inspired by Maine’s governor Pepe Le Pew Paul le Page, he had a painting removed from the governor’s mansion.  The painting was by Wisconsin artist David Lenz.

From the Milwaukee Sentinel-Journal:   Lenz said he carefully selected the three children portrayed in “Wishes in the Wind.” The African-American girl, featured in a Journal Sentinel column on homelessness, spent three months at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission with her mother. The Hispanic girl is a member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee. And the boy’s father and brother were killed by a drunken driver in 2009.

“The homeless, central city children and victims of drunk drivers normally do not have a voice in politics,” Lenz explained in an email. “This painting was an opportunity for future governors to look these three children in the eye, and I hope, contemplate how their public policies might affect them and other children like them.”

Perhaps Governor Walker will replace it with some artwork by the late Dr. Jack Kevorkian.

As always, the competition was tough, but Scott Walker’s hatred of children, and bubbles, and wishes has earned him this week’s honor.
