I guess it’s true what they say, that every dark cloud has a silver lining.
I was just reading a story, which was in a Las Vegas paper before it was on the internet, about how pot growers are using foreclosed upon, and therefore abandoned, homes for the purpose of
growing marijuana. I’m guessing that if it’s happening there, it’s happening all across America. Plenty of empty homes sitting around. Desperate times. Plus, everyone likes weed.
If you think about it, it’s almost the perfect crime. If the pigs come sniffing around while you’re watering the plants you just say you are the gardener, you don’t know when the owner will be back, you have no idea what these ugly plants are, and you say it all in Spanish.
Unfortunately, though, the police have been successful in busting some folks, which was the gist of the article. That’s sad. As a long time retail consumer of what is perhaps the planet’s most beloved plant, I totally support the growers. I wish them luck. They are supplying what I demand. May they find ever more innovative and fool proof ways to fool the fools who are the tools, the water boys, the laden mules of those, aloof, who make the rules.
Anyway, as long as they’re growing, I’m smoking and as long as I’m smoking I’m sure somebody, somewhere, is growing. Invisible hand of the free market and all that. Which actually makes some kind of sense if you’re really, really stoned.
