33-year-old Stacy Schuler, an Ohio High School teacher, may be sentenced to life (81 years – that’s the same as life) in prison. Her crime was having sex with 5 male students, all 16 years old. At her home. For about 6 months. Most of them were football players.

Now, one could respond with the Schweick-like defense: “Gee, 81 years is a bit harsh. I mean, I could understand 5 or 10 years….” After all, she was a teacher, they are all under age.
But this is nuts. She did no harm. It was not rape. Boys are not the same as girls. They were not, so to speak, violated. If anything, they are likely to suffer from more psychological damage and guilt if this woman goes to jail. She’s not doing the harm. Society is.
She is being punished because there is still a lot of sexual puritanism among the American people. What is wrong with a 33 year old woman having a male harem, a group of 16 year old boys to satisfy her every need? I think the ladies deserve that. It’s certainly a bonus for the boys involved. It’s a benefit for society because there are fewer frustrated 16 year old boys overloaded with testosterone aimlessly wandering the night-time streets. And, the school gets an inspired football team. (I vaguely remember the case of a high school in Texas, a few years back, where the coaches wife would give a blowjob per touchdown, or something like that – I think they won the state championship.)
What I’m saying is that Stacy Schuler should be commended, not condemned. That her behavior should be encouraged, not discouraged. The world would be a better, sexier, happier place with more Stacy Schulers.
Back to the real world. Schuler has changed her plea from “not guilty” to “insanity.” It’s probably the smart move, and maybe she’ll be out in a reasonable time, minus a teaching license but with many good years in front of her.
Still, it’s a sad world where a woman is considered insane for enjoying sex with teenage boys.
