Dancing With the Stars

I’ve never watched Dancing With the Stars.  I’ve seen bits and pieces on YouTube, and I think I can pretty much imagine what it’s like.  There are judges, people phone in their favorites.  I’m sure it’s a lot like American Idol/Cesko Hleda Superstar or any of the million or so shows like that.  Generally I enjoy watching them.

At first, I enjoyed the bad acts, too.  But it’s too cruel.  I hated it when the bad judge on So You Think You Can Dance (which is one of my favorites because some of those contestants are absolutely awesome, I have seen some moves on that program that almost seem superhuman and that’s what I like to see) told a contestant that the only reason people were clapping for him was because he was fat.  The guy was fat, but I thought he had some pretty impressive dance moves, and deserved a bit of extra credit for doing it with all that extra weight.

There’s a lot of controversy over Bristol Palin now on dancing with the stars.  Like I say, I haven’t seen the competition, just one short clip on YouTube.  I didn’t think she was great, but she wasn’t spectacular, and I thought she picked a pretty easy routine.  Anyway, some folks are saying that the vote is rigged, that massive numbers of teabaggers are voting for her millions of times, as a political gesture.  Show officials deny it, but the teabaggers admit it, so there it is.  When she advanced to the finals the other day, some guy in Wisconsin shot his TV set.  Seriously.

We wondered what the big issue would be that would split the tea party down the middle.  Now we know.  It’s Dancing With the Stars

Since they have to pay for every vote, we can hope they go broke before 2012! Let’s hope they put another teabagger’s daughter in next year!
