Some dusty old UFO files, a couple of thousand cases or so, have just been released in England. I haven’t read too much about it yet, but my guess is they are a combination of credible and less credible, some proven hoaxes, some inexplicable, all entertaining.
My question is: Why were they being kept secret? and what about all the UFO cases in the last 5 years? I guess that’s two questions.
Really, this is pointless government secrecy. If there have been actual sightings of extraterrestrial craft I would want to hear about it, I think most people of the earth would want to know about it, and the government has absolutely nothing to gain by keeping the fact under wraps. If we are threatened by Alien Life Forms intent on colonizing our planet or sucking our brains out, I want to know what my best personal options for survival are.
If there have not been any confirmed sightings (as I would suspect), then why the secrecy?
So, why should a conspiracy theorist and sci-fi nut like myself say I think there’s no proof of UFOs? This whole secrecy thing is a weird thing and I suspect it’s rare throughout evolved intelligent species throughout the universe. I think if three eyed green men from a distant planet were on Earth, they’d come right out and present themselves: Hello, Earthlings, we are here to colonize your planet and suck your brains out, hahahahahah, what are you going to do about it. As we’ve all seen in the movies, our weapons would all be useless because they just throw up a force field, then wait until we’re standing around with stupid looks on our faces and they zap us with their death rays. They haven’t done that, so they probably aren’t here.
The whole “non-interference” policy was made up for Star Trek and, as I’m sure you’ve all noticed, they violate it pretty regularly themselves.
Of course there is other intelligent life in the universe, some of which is technologically advanced enough to voyage across the stars. There are probably millions and millions of planets like that out there. If you look at all the stars in all the galaxies of the universe, and even .001 of them has a planet with intelligent life, that’s millions and millions.
But, those millions and millions of intelligent species have millions and millions of planets to choose from for their interstellar jaunts, and a pre-space travel culture which can’t control it’s own environment and erupts into warfare in unpredictable places might not be their first choice.
Yes, there is other life in the universe. The universe is just a really, really big place and everything’s a really, really long way apart.

They’re here, and they’re republicans. They’re really not that intelligent.
Just look at that picture of Sarah Palin from a couple days ago, obviously a lizard person ready to strike.
