Birthers are Terminally Retarded

First off, Barack Obama’s mother was American, so he was an American at birth or, as the U.S. Constitution specifies, a natural born American.  Secondly, it’s pretty darn clear he was born in Hawaii.  There is a birth certificate (O.K., certificate of live birth – same thing.  It has the words “birth” and “certificate” right in there.  It’s not a certificate for a free meal at Arby’s, now, is it?) which has been available

online for 3 years.  It was issued by a hospital in Honolulu, and it was accepted by the electoral officials in Hawaii as official.  Then there are the birth announcements from the newspapers, in 1961.  But, that wasn’t enough for some people (e.g. Donald Trump, teabaggers and an extremely vocal element among the American media) so, today, Barack Obama produce the “long form” birth certificate.

I’ll admit, I’m surprised.  I didn’t know such a thing existed.  I thought the baggers were making it up.  But, there it is, the thing they’ve been demanding.  They should be happy, right?  This is what they were asking for.  So, now they should be saying, O.K., he’s an American, now let’s get down to what we’re really pissed off about.  Right?

Wrong.  Just like the gun nuts who responded to the Virginia Tech shooting and the Gabrielle Giffords shooting by saying  “More guns! more guns!,” the birthers have responded by continuing to press their birther nonsense.  Donald Trump immediately responded by saying how proud he was to have forced Obama to do this, World Net Daily pointed out that it said on the certificate that his father was African (we knew that) and a lady named Linda Monk, writing for the Huffington Post, said that this whole controversy was Obama’s fault for not revealing this particular document earlier.

They will not accept proof.  They will not listen to reason.

I know that people say we should not insult them, because that’s no way to win friends and influence people, but there is nothing we can do or say that will influence these people.  They are beyond ignorant, they are ineducable.  And they are a genuine threat to the well being of mankind.
