Stuck for an idea, in the news is cap and trade, which is pretty boring, and the debt ceiling, which is boring except for that little suggestion by Mitch McConnell, Republican leader of the house, that Congress just totally abdicate authority to do that and leave it up to the President, in which case

done, O.K., but it’s a weird and weaselly way to go about things, there’s a story in the news about a woman who chopped her ex husbands penis off, there are a lot of those stories lately, it is a seriously disturbing trend, but this case is bizarre, she poisoned him at dinner, then tied him down when he was unconscious and later chopped it clean off and stuffed it in a meat grinder while he screamed his lungs out.  Then she called 9/11.  She said he deserved it.

There’s Hillary Clinton mouthing off on Syria.  Saying that Bashir Assad has totally lost crediblity and should step down.  Now, I see two possibilities.  The Hillary cynic in me says “too soon,” if he still manages to hold on, then she looks like a tool and also she’s seriously damaged a needed relationship.  The Hillary supporter in me thinks, without any particular reason to based on past performance, more just a hope, really, that this means she knows something.  She’s taking the stance because she knows he’s already doomed.  That would be cool.

Then, the French foreign minister said that Gaddafi is ready to leave Libya, which should be great news, but they were scant on the details like when and where in the world, and will he be imprisoned or get a sweet little dictator’s exile.  Maybe they could put him and Assad together.  Maybe there should be a little retirement colony for evil dictators, somewhere on an island, where they can live out there days not seeing the world get destroyed.

Alan Grayson is going to run for congress again.  Sure hope he wins. I like Alan Grayson.
