Etch a Sketch Man Says Something Even Stupider

Mitt Romney’s suffered more gaffes than Charlie the Tuna:  Corporations are people, my friend, I’m unemployed, too, Who let the dogs out?, I’ll bet you $10,000, I love firing people, that’s not a lot of money, my wife drives a couple of Cadillacs, the dog LOVED riding on the roof, some of my best friends are NASCAR team owners, my father marched with Martin Luther King, the trees in Michigan are just the right height and, a couple of days ago, spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom’s comment that politics is like an etch a sketch – all of the incredibly stupid things Romney has said so far can just be shaken away, and a new picture will be drawn.

But, good old dependable Mitt, before the dust has even settled of l’affaire etch a sketch, he takes the heat off old Eric like a true gentleman politician should, by saying something even stupider.  When asked just what departments he intended to cut, in order to reduce government spending, he said, in a nutshell, “I’m not going to say.  If I told people which departments I want to cut, they’d vote against me.”

Those weren’t the exact words, and there was a lot of whining along the way, about how unfair it was when he lost to Ted Kennedy for the Senate in 1994, because the press actually reported on his positions and he’s not about to make that mistake again.

So, do not ask Mitt Romney exactly what departments he plans to cut, because he’s not going to tell you, because if he told you you’d hate his guts because it’s probably something like social security or medicare or something.

Time for another shake of the old etch a sketch, Mitt.  That picture didn’t come out quite the way you intended.
