Kids

Kids are easily entertained, thank goodness.  Me, I am practically going through internet withdrawal.  This blog has been much more of a travel and casual observations blog this past week, not just because we are traveling and seeing beautiful, and sometimes ancient and amazing things, but because I haven’t had the time or adequate internet access to sit down and read the news.

Hours of Fun

Perhaps that’s a good thing, because the headlines I’ve seen seem to indicate that there are no major changes.  Romney continues to blame Obama for all of America’s woes, Obama continues to lead in the polls, but there will be no major political news, really, until November, because Romney’s VP pick, pretty much no matter who it is, will be anti-climactic.

All of the adults in the party are talking about films, and TV shows, and other such trivialities.  Today is our last day in Pacengo, people are doing laundry, getting packed up and ready to go.  The American contingent is going on a cruise: Genoa, Barcelona, Tunis, Malta, Sicily, Rome and back to Genoa.  My brother is heading home to Geneva and me and my family are going to follow him there for the rest of our vacation.  Back to civilization.

So, it’s a slow day, we’re talking about going down to the beach but nobody’s making a move.  Isabel, however, is totally taken by a pair of goggle eye glasses her Uncle Ben gave her and all of the kids are running around the balcony and in and out of the rooms in a game of monster tag with improvised rules.

I wouldn’t say that kids always make the best travel companions, because when they get cranky they can make your life hell and they never pick up the check in a restaurant, but they definitely are the most fun.
