Naked Panic

Conservatives want things to stay the way they  are.  That’s actually one of the definitions.  So in this fast changing world we live in, it is inevitable that there will be a lot of things conservatives feel threatened by.

The internet.  Foreigners.  Rap.  Women. Drugs. Islam. Science. Youth.  Homosexuals. Nudity.

Killed by an Asshole Cop

There are two big problems with this.  Most policemen (and policewomen, I suspect, although perhaps somewhat less so) are conservative.  Secondly, as you can quickly deduce from the last paragraph’s list, most of us threaten them in some way.

I’m certainly not trying to excuse the police officer in this case, who is a world class asshole and a murderer.  Just trying to shed a little light.  It’s possible that this  campus cop resented the students at the school for being smart.  That’s common among conservatives, and among cops.

It’s possible that Gil Collar was on LSD, as they say, but I’m guessing the cops  just pulled that out of their asses to protect one of their own.  I haven’t seen any in years and was starting to think they just don’t make it any more, what with  all the fancy new drugs out there.  In any event, the police didn’t need to feel threatened.  I’ve done acid plenty of times, and never injured a police officer once.  I’m pretty sure my experience is typical.

My  suspicion is that the cop was so afraid that he might actually, physically, be touched by another man’s peepee, that he pulled his weapon and blasted away, like Fess Parker at the Alamo.  Fear of nudity.  Fear of homosexuals.

He couldn’t have possibly been in fear of his life.

Gil Collar was 18 years old, 5’7″ tall and weighed 135 pounds (about 170 cm and just over 61 kilos.)  And, of course, he was naked.  I don’t know how much training campus cops get, but I think the first lesson, on the first day, should be “If somebody  is naked, they are not carrying a concealed weapon.  Don’t be fucking stupid.”

I hope the officer involved does serious jail time, is never allowed to carry a gun again, and finds some other line of work.  One where he is not confronted by scary naked people.
