Lindsay Lohan, the Hollywood bad girl who is famous for a film she made when she was 11 and hasn’t been in anything much for awhile because she keeps drinking and doing coke and getting arrested for stupid shit so that no director wants to hire her, has been arrested yet again.

It’s probably no big deal.  She’s charged with leaving the scene of an accident, but she  denies there was an accident at all.  If so, it wasn’t serious.  She  was driving down an alley, so it was an extremely low speed thing, the guy was released from the hospital right  away and it seems that security cameras back up Lindsay’s story.

Still, she could be in a world of problems because she’s still on probation for stealing a necklace.  In all fairness, if she’s found blameless in this accident, it shouldn’t affect her probation, but she’s still a thief.

Back when I first started hearing about Lindsay Lohan, I thought “Gee, lighten up, people.  Who doesn’t do lots of coke and go weaving  all over the strip when they go to Vegas?  I mean, that’s what Vegas is FOR.”  But, she got caught more often than Robert Downey, Junior.

Then came the stealing, and the punching people and throwing drinks on them, and the trying to get into parties she was specifically disinvited to,  and whining about how the police and paparazzi are always picking on her.

I began to lose a bit of respect for the girl.  So, while it would be a travesty of our justice system if she was wind up in  the Iron Bar Hotel because she accidentally bumped some guy with her car in a tight space at about 2mph,  I wouldn’t shed any tears.  She wouldn’t really be  going to jail for the accident, but for the jewelry.

One final point before I sign off for the evening:  If they put Lindsay Lohan in the pokey for 3 or 4 years, that would be 3 or 4 years in which we would not see, or hear from, Lindsay Lohan.  It would be a violation of due process and her civil rights, but it might just be worth it.

Or, they could just bring back  the  stocks and we could  all throw rotten fruit at her.
