Rich People vs. Intelligence for the Future of the Human Race

The more technology advances, the better it is, obvs, because all knowledge interconnects and what works will work and be copied and there’s that old invisible hand which, no matter how many people it slaps up the side of the head, no matter how many pockets it picks on the way, will hold the tiller steady, keep plowing in a steady line, keep the economy on course, of course, except it doesn’t.triangle

There are people who control the world’s economy – oh, I don’t believe it’s the Rosicrucians, or the Morgans, or the Masons, or the Mormons, or the Elders of Zion,  or anything like that, because all of those groups and families, some of which may not exist at all (is there anybody out there old enough to remember when we used to think, when it was the generally accepted wisdom, that the Mafia was a myth?  Really.) are separate from each other, and they are all made up of individuals who are constantly trying to screw each other, so there is a weird system of checks and balances at the top.

But, while they all have somewhat different interests (i.e. their own), they all have one thing in common and that is that they all, being very wealthy people, subscribe to the idea that the rich should remain rich.  Most of them seem to think, quite erroneously in fact, that the only way for the rich to remain rich is for the poor to remain poor.

Since they (collectively and not very efficiently) control the world, they can, and do, work to prevent progress.

They have been fighting to keep marijuana illegal since the 1930s.  Whether that’s because of its many pharmaceutical uses, or because of the numerous uses for hemp, I’m not really sure. But I’m damned sure their motives are not altruistic.

They block, without any logical reason, all attempts at increasing alternate methods of energy production.

They want to rein in the internet.

But technology keeps advancing.  The days of ignorance are numbered.  They will fight like hell to keep humanity down, because they see us as a threat to their own cushy position of power and privilege.  But, eventually, they will lose.
